Avid

Case Study

CAMPAIGN: New product launch and demo roadshow

After 3 years hiring one of our double deck exhibition buses and touring to visit broadcasters and post production houses across the UK and Northern Ireland, Avid decided they want to extend this concept throughout Europe.

Solution

The formula of having their full product range set up as a full editing suite on board and being able to visit clients at their premises without the daily set up was a huge success.

Due to bridge heights in some European countries our UK double deck buses were not an option for touring Europe. Knowing the success that the UK Roadshows had brought already and the amount of countries they wanted to travel to Avid decided that the best option was their own promotional coach – this could be then be completely designed internal and externally to their requirements.

Understanding the project requirements that the coach would spend approximately around 80% of the time in mainland Europe we decided the best option was for a European right hand drive double deck coach. We researched the market and though one of our contacts identified the perfect one in Germany, we then set about importing the vehicle to UK ready to begin its transformation into Avid’s European promotional coach.

Commbus carried out complete project management working closely with the marketing and technical teams at Avid. The internal and external designs were finalised and the conversion process began. Externally the vehicle was re sprayed and over lay graphics were applied. Internally the coach was completely striped back to its shell and a full internal build began.

The requirements for the coach to showcase a full editing suite with sister company products were laid out on the upper deck and on the lower deck and news workflow solution. Once the conversion was completed and ready for the road we operated and cared for the coach for Avid. Over the 3 year contract the Avid Exhibition Coach toured 26 countries through Europe, travelling as far as Russia and Turkey.
