The golden bus tour leads a summer full of activities that will celebrate the 50th Year of Slimming World.
Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell (OBE, FRSA) in 1969. Now there are more than 19,000 weekly groups supporting 900,000 members across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Slimming World is based on a healthy eating plan, Food Optimising that is based on the seine and satiety and energy density.
Using the limited edition Slimming World Golden Brand we transformed on of our roadshow buses into a bespoke designed Slimming World Bus. The upper deck of the bus has a golden lounge area where you can come on board and meet the super slimmers and find out about how they started their journey and succeeded. At the front of the upper deck of the bus is the interactive zone with a selfie backdrop and large wall-mounted touch screens with inspiring stories and showcasing 50 fabulous recipes.
The lower deck of the bus with the tech zone has iPads where you can find out more and will have local slimming world group leaders ready to answer any questions. You will be welcomed on board by receiving a limited edition goodie bag.
Alongside the Golden Bus, we created a bespoke prep and demo kitchen with an outdoor stage covered by a branded canopy. Consulting with the chef and the team at Slimming World allowed the prep and demo kitchen to be designed and built to their exact requirements taking into consideration the factors for a tour visiting a different location each day. The converted box van kitchen had to also conform and meet environmental standards and we were thrilled to be given a 5-star rating.
Throughout the day on the golden tour, the chef will be cooking specially created recipes designed for the tour golden celebration tour - and those lucky enough to catch a demo will be served taster portions. Inspired by seeing how easy and tasty these are - recipe cards of each one are available for free inside the bus.
All elements of the tour were branded with the limited edition 50th Golden year brand including the roadshow bus, demo kitchen van, demo stage through to the giant deck chair which we will know will be a huge hit for more golden selfies!
The launch today at the Southbank in Central London welcomes stakeholders, press and some of Slimming World successful slimmers who will be ambassadors on board during the tour alongside the regional teams. The tour will start in a couple of days time in Northern Ireland, before heading to the Republic of Ireland and then across 12 weeks, this summer will travel to 59 locations in towns and cities.
