6th annual National Apprenticeship Week (11-15th March 2013)
For the 6th annual National Apprenticeship Week (11-15th March 2013) the South West Region are heading out on the road with one of our pre converted exhibition buses for a week long roadshow.
The South West Apprenticeship Ambassador Network which is chaired by Serco, is playing host to the bus with the aim of encouraging local businesses to Get On Board With Apprenticeships” . The bus will be making 14 stops from Cornwall to bristol over the week.
The aim of the roadshow is to showcase how Apprenticeships deliver for employers. The Bus is aimed at promoting Apprenticeships and the AGE incentives. Each day the roadshow bus will take on its own particular identity with a mix of Have a Go competitions, Training Providers demonstrations as well as Ambassador interviews with local media links. Apprenticeship Vacancies will be accessible on board the bus too and there will also be colleagues from Jobcentre Plus and Careers SW on hand to provide advice to young people and parents who visit. The tour is being officially launched in Redruth by Sarah Newton MP, Deputy Chairman of Conservative Party and will culminate in Bristol on Friday.
Mark Howard, Divisional Area Director – Southern National Apprenticeship Service said: “Every year National Apprenticeship week increases in popularity. The bus tour in the South West provides an excellent opportunity for young people and employers to come along to see what Apprenticeships can offer.”
This is a really exciting project for us to be involved with, espically as this is the first full roadshow our latest converted exhibition bus will be heading out on.
National Apprenticeship week is co ordinated by the National Apprenticeship service and they plan to celebrate the talent achievements
