Mark Clark Managing Director of Commbus

Mark is one of the founding Directors at Commbus and has been the driving force behind Commbus, working closely with the team over the years to develop Commbus into the business it is today.

Along side Mark’s role in over seeing all areas of the business in general, Mark leads all of the conversion and adaptations of our fleet of buses across all business sectors. Mark’s experience in logistics provides an invaluable role in all our operational procedures.

Mark holds his Operators CPC (Certification of Professional Competence) in transport and logistics.  He also holders driver qualifications for  PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle), HGV and FLT licences, having driven coaches and lorries for over 20 years and has driven almost everything that moves on the ground!

Starting his career as one of the youngest coach drivers in the country to his personal journey lead him into the events industry working on many high profile events and proved to be the perfect combination for founding Commbus over 20 years ago.

Mark has worked on International events such as the G8 and EU summits, on behalf of the Foreign Office, as well as high profile Arts & Cultural Festivals and Events including International Dance Festival Birmingham, Milton Keynes International Festival and Cultural Olympiad Events including The Voyage.

Gordon Hunt

Director

Gordon Hunt – Director

Gordon is also one of the founding Directors of Commbus and his roll is Technical Director. Gordon oversees all the areas of compliance at Commbus, he is also responsible for all the electrical and technical aspects of the build of our fleet of vehicles. Gordon holds the HSE X3 Certificate and manages all of the health and safety aspects for the company including the job specific risk assessments. Gordon also looks after the customs and carnet paperwork when our buses head out on tour abroad.

His background as a broadcast technician and editor, editing some well loved television series such as Teletubbies and Auf Wiedersehen Pet and as an electrical engineer comes into its own for many of our projects.

Clare Macleod

Sales & Marketing Director

Clare Macleod - Sales, Marketing and Events Manager

Clare is the Sales, and Marketing Director at Commbus. Clare oversees the team working with clients on all the projects Commbus undertakes across both the promotional, roadshow and exhibition buses and on the events side. Clare is also responsible for overseeing all the Marketing, PR & Events for the company – including compiling this web site !

Clare’s background comes from a wealth of experience in the Events, marketing and PR. After completing her BSC honours degree in Sociology and Communications at Brunel University, Clare went on to work for global technology companies before heading to Birmingham and joining Commbus.

Richard Charnley

Transport Manager

Richard (Ric) Charnley is our nominated Transport Manager on our Operator’s Licence. He holds Certificates of Professional Competence in both Goods and Passenger vehicle operations and is responsible to the Traffic Commissioner for the company’s compliance with its legal obligations regarding both vehicles and drivers.

From Blackpool trams to airlines, lorries, buses and coaches, Ric has worked in most fields of transport.  He once ran his own coach operation and now writes for trade magazines.

He holds full driving licences for all commercial vehicles and may occasionally take a turn at the wheel, especially if it’s the Routemaster bus.

Elizabeth Mee

Business Development Manager

Elizabeth Mee - Business Development

Elizabeth is the Business Development Manager at Commbus and Deckerdence and is responsible for supporting Clare with the development of the Sales and Marketing strategies and to help grow the businesses concentrating on the Pro-active element of the sales.

Elizabeth has spent the last 10 years working in the Hospitality industry concentrating on organising events, managing teams, business development, account management and relationship management and so has allowed her to gain extensive sales experience as well as gaining operational experience within the industry.

Brody Setaro

Events & Operations Co Ordinator

Brody Sales

Brodie is the Events & Operations Coordinator here at Commbus.

His role ranges from working along side our clients helping them take their ideas off the paper and get them into one of our fleet of buses on ready to head out the road.

 

Brodie also works along side Transport Manager Ric looking after the vehicle maintenance records for our fleet of buses, coaches and trailers. Brodie also manages our tachograph records for all our team of roadshow drivers, ensuring our operations are legal and ready for the road.

Brodie has previously worked in the freight forwarding industry, providing a great foundation in logistics for his role at Commbus.

Ross Thompson

Logistics & Fleet Co Ordinator

Ross looks after putting our clients concepts physically into reality. Ross manages on site logistics and setting up of Deckerdence and manages the all our stock and equipment prepping all our promotional bus and event support work.

When Ross turned 16 he did his tractor license as soon as could, and is working towards a full collation of licences before we are sure he will rival Mark with the amount of licences.

Ross’s background is in engineering and is a fully qualified welder/fabricator. Skills that with some of our bespoke event creations have proved invaluable.

Andy Freeman

Lead Roadshow Manager

One of our lead Roadshow managers, Andy looks after our clients when out on site. Andy works across our event support services and our promotional bus roadshow including driving our vintage passenger and parade buses.

With Andy your roadshow and events are in expect hands on the road with his extensive knowledge and experience driving you forward.

Andy was worked in the bus and transport industry from servicing and maintenance through to on road management of vehicles.

Steve Butler

Lead Mechanic

Steve looks after the servicing and maintaining of all our fleet of buses, coaches and event vehicles. Steve has been working with HGV and commercial vehicles of all shapes and sizes throughout his career. In fact we are sure he was fixing buses before he could walk or talk.

At Commbus we believe all our vehicles are legal, safe and ready for the road and with Steve’s exacting eye – this is the case.

Steven Grainger

Team Lead Roadshow Manager

As one of our lead Roadshow Managers Steve takes care of clients when on the road. Steve works across both our roadshows and events at Commbus.  With Steve at the wheel of one of our promotional buses or bespoke event vehicles – everything is taken care of.

Steve has a long service history in the events industry, including 23 years at Birmingham City Council where his final role as Depot Manager saw him running a team that serviced over 500 events a year.
